Martin L. "Mad Marty" McGinnis, 56 years of Cahokia, IL, passed away on January 8, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at his home. Marty was born August 2, 1962 in St. Louis, MO.
Marty became a life long Machinist after getting his start in his father's business at Universal Manufacturing Equipment Company.
Surviving are wife, Cindy, nee Reeves, McGinnis; sisters, Kristine Kurtti, Melissa McGinnis-Russo; brother, Scott McGinnis; step-children, Nick and Neil Hendrix, B.J. and Brittany Kuni, Amber Kuni, Trish Causey, 8 grandchildren, along with many other nieces, nephews, family and close friends.
Marty was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Carole, nee McKelvey, McGinnis.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate his life Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 4 - 6 pm at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL. A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 6 pm at Leesman Funeral Home, with Brother Timothy Reeves officiating.
Per his wishes he was cremated.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
