Martin Carl Burgdorf Jr.'s Obituary
Martin Carl Burgdorf, Jr., 68 of Baldwin, IL passed away on January 7, 2025, at his sisters' residence. He was born September 13, 1956 to Martin and Alice Burgdorf in Red Bud, IL.
Marty loved everyone and everyone loved him in return. He would help anyone without hesitation. Marty worked for Larry Mergelkamp as a scraper of engines and transmissions for more than 20 years. He also enjoyed helping his brother scrap materials. Marty spent his free time watching wrestling and old westerns. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are his Brother, Richard C. Burgdorf; Sisters, Carol Niemeyer and Luann (Burnell) Buehler; along with several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and plenty of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Martin Sr. and Alice (nee Wall) Burgdorf; Brothers, Charles Burgdorf and Robert Burgdorf; and Sister, Shirley Hefflinger.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 16, 2025 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Leesman Funeral Home, Red Bud, IL. Services will follow visitation at 5:00 pm with Pastor Brian Nowak officiating. Cremation services will follow.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed towards the family to assist with funeral expenses and can be received by the funeral home.
