Marilyn Jean Bevelot's Obituary
Marilyn Jean Bevelot, 84 years of Dupo, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born August 16, 1937, in Chillicothe, IL.
Marilyn was very active in Friends of the Daugherty Public Library, Friends of the Old Milstadt Water Tower, the Martin Boismenue Preservation Society, and Prairie du Rocher Saddle Club. She also was a 35+ year participant of the Emminence, MO CCTR. When she wasn't spending time with her family and friends, she was riding horses, riding motorcycles, sewing and crafting. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening and was an avid reader. Marilyn was one of the first women to complete the Ohio River to the Mississippi River trail ride.
On, February 14, 1955, in Waterloo, IL., she was united in marriage to Stephen E. Bevelot and to this union four children were born. They shared sixty seven years of marriage together.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen E Bevelot of Dupo, IL, her four children, Stephen L Bevelot, Anthony E (Lori) Bevelot, Sheryl L. Bevelot, and Glen A (Heidi) Bevelot, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with other relatives and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, LD Mitchell; mother, Floresance R Mitchell; and brother, Robert Mitchell;
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 16th, 2022 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
Services will be immediately following the visitation at 7:00 pm on Thursday.
A private interment will follow at a later date in the Valhalla Gardens Of Memory, Belleville, IL.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Vitas Community Connection Hospice, PO Box 645352, Cincinnati, OH 45264. .
