Marie Chaudet's Obituary
Marie Chaudet, 91 years of Columbia, IL, passed away on June 1, 2017 at Oak Hill Care Center, Waterloo, IL. She was born April 11, 1926, in Hardinsburg, KY. She was married to the late Donald C. Chaudet. They were married June 2, 1949, in Cahokia, IL. He had passed away February 8, 1987.
Marie was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and a former member of the school's Mother's Club, Dupo, IL, the Kitchen Band at St. Catherine Laboure Parish, Cahokia, IL, and the Belle Fontaine Historical Society. She enjoyed reading and solving crossword puzzles.
Surviving are her son, Daniel J. (Brenda) Chaudet of Columbia, IL; daughter, Linda (Doug) Wilson of Damiensville, IL, grandchildren, Amy Chaudet, Matthew Bowles, Daniel Chaudet, Jr., and Sarah Bowles, 11 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Lorine Zeugin of St. Louis, MO, Betty Meyer of St. Louis, MO, and Mary Young of Columbia, IL, along with other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Mary Viola , nee Greenwell, Callahan, a son, Joseph Chaudet, three brothers, Thomas Callahan, Joseph Callahan, and Jerome Callahan, and two sisters, Patricia Maxey, and Barbara Huelsman.
Visitation will be Monday, June 5, 2017, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, IL. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 6, at 10:00 am, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL, with Fr. Carl Scherrer, officiating. Interment will follow in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
