Mardell Pelch's Obituary
Mardell Pelch, 70 years of Columbia, IL, passed away on September 7, 2017, at home, with her family at her side. She was born December 5, 1946, in Belleville, IL, daughter of the late John and Magdalen, nee Wienhoff, Janson. After 50 years of marriage, she joins her husband, Bob, who passed away December 22, 2013. They were married August 25, 1967, in Columbia, IL.
She was loved dearly by her family: her three sons, Scott Pelch of Waterloo, IL, Jason (Nickie) Pelch of Columbia, IL, and Bryan (Brooke Stroup) Pelch of Waterloo, IL; grandchildren, Aurora Gass, Ben, Arlo, Ayla, & Bailey Pelch; four sisters, Janette (Tom) Putz of Swansea, IL, Lorene (Peter Giusti) Janson of Shiloh, IL, Verna (Keith) Embrich of Waterloo, IL, and Karen (Denny) Gladieux of Lake St. Louis, MO; brother, Harold (Mary) Janson of Columbia, IL; mother-in-law, Carmelita Pelch of St. Louis, MO; brother-in-law, William (Susan) Pelch of Belleville, IL; sister-in-law, Fran (Ray) Heine of St. Louis, MO, cherished nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
Her life was made more full being called Grandma, and her heart belonged to her five "Babies". She shared many laughs with lifelong friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 12, 2017, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, at the Church, with Fr. Carl Scherrer, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
