Lynette L. Smith's Obituary
Lynette L. Smith, 89 years, of Red Bud, IL, passed away on June 8, 2020, at Coulterville Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Coulterville, IL. She was born September 18, 1930, in Peoria, IL.
Lynette was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother, and a kind friend to her Marissa card club members, her extended family in Red Bud and to many others who knew her. She enjoyed bowling in her early days, loved to swim and laugh with her friends at the Marissa Rec Area, attend her son’s basketball games, travel, play cards, work on puzzles, and crochet. She was known for gifting her beautiful afghans to friends and family. She was an adoring babysitter and many of her “kids” and their families turned into life-long friends. Lynette was generous and will be missed by many.
Surviving are her daughter, Bonny (Phil) Miller; son, D.J. (Karla) Smith; daughter-in-law, Tenley Smith; grandchildren, Cory (Jayla) Smith, Lacey (Nick) Peters, Chris (Jessica) Smith, Jamie (Stephen) Nowroski, Phillip (Lena) Miller, and Alyse (Joel) Brezinski; great-grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, Milford Smith, who she married on December 9, 1948; parents, Floyd and Emma, nee Gholson, Bradshaw; son, Stephen A. Smith.
Inurnment of her ashes will take place in Red Bud City Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
