Luella is survived by her husband of 66 years: George ôDickö Toenjes Jr., her three sons: Michael ôBirdseedö (Cathy) Toenjes of Millstadt, IL., Ronald (Debby) Toenjes of Georgetown, TX., Norman ôShortyö (Kathy) Toenjes of Millstadt, IL., her daughter: Rita (Jeff) Helfrich of Millstadt, IL., her grandchildren: Allison Toenjes, Wade (fiancΘ Jenny McWilliams) Toenjes, Todd Toenjes, Ryan Toenjes, Tiffany (Brian) Markus, Lauren (JV) Fiss, Brett (Brittany Stahr) Toenjes, Emily Toenjes, Brad Helfrich, Jacob Toenjes, Max Helfrich, her great grandchildren: Bryce Andrew Markus, Charli May Fiss & Tessa Rene Toenjes, her brother: Sylvester ôTuffyö Mueth, sister-in-law: Almira Mueth, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Floyd ôFlipö & Eulene Toenjes and Glenn ôGissö & Joyce Toenjes and her God-Children: Kevin Mueth, Julie Toenjes, Danny Toenjes, Linda Cain, nee Mueth and Nancy nee Alberter, Marlen. She is also survived by other relatives & friends. Mrs. Toenjes was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, IL., St. James Sodality, VFW Post 7980 Ladies Auxiliary in Millstadt, IL., American Legion Post 502 Ladies Auxiliary in Millstadt, IL and Smithton Turner Ladies. She worked at Millstadt Rayon Factory and West End Fish Stand. Mrs. Toenjes enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards, made hundreds of quilt blocks for St. James, picking strawberries, maker of potato salad served at West End Fish Stand for thirty plus years, was the second baseman for the Floraville softball team and momÆs happiest moments were when she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially at baseball, softball, basketball, football and volleyball games where mom could be seen with her handmade score card and pen, keeping track of the score and number of tackles.
