Lt. Colonel Jeffrey Lawrence Lewis' Obituary
Lt. Colonel Jeffrey Lawrence Lewis, 61 years of age of Denton, TX, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born May 3, 1960 in Ironton, MO.
Lt. Colonel Lewis retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service. After retiring from the Air Force he became a pilot for Southwest Airlines. Lt. Colonel Lewis loved & served his country well and was proud to be an American. He inherited his love of flying from his father. Some of his other interests included hiking, scuba diving with his brothers, water sports and watching Auburn football. War Eagle!
Lt. Colonel Lewis comes from a very proud military family. His father Larry served in the United States Army, his brother, Craig also served in the United States Army, his nephew Kyle served in the National Guard, his nephew Gabriel serves in the United States Air Force and his best friend and pastor, Jeff, served along his side in the United States Air Force.
Surviving is his loving wife, Shelley Lewis, nee Skidmore, his parents, Larry & Ruth, nee Davis, Lewis, his daughters, Megan (Nick) Cerentano & Micah (Nick) Erzinger, his step-children, Renee Elliot & Seth Elliot, his brothers, Philip (Kim) Lewis & Craig (Wendi) Lewis, his grandchildren, Etienne, Holland & Roman, and his favorite pup, Maddy, along with other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Columbia, IL.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 11:45 a.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Columbia, IL., with Colonel Jeff Stephenson, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO., with full military honors.
