Lorene C. Moehrs' Obituary
Lorene C. Moehrs, 91 years, of Columbia, IL, passed away on May 27, 2020 at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, MO. She was born April 21, 1929, in Red Bud, IL, daughter of the late August and Clara, nee Harms, Kloepper. She was married to the late LeRoy C. Moehrs, folks will remember him from Salger's Shoe Store back in the day. They were married August 20, 1949, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Prairie, IL. He had passed away March 6, 1999.
Lorene was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Columbia, IL. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, needlepoint, and sewing of any kind, and she was a community quilter assisting with many local causes over the years. She retired from Luhr Bros., Columbia, IL, where she had worked as a payroll clerk. She also loved West Highland White Terriers.
Surviving are three daughters, Helen (Joel) Raeber of Marietta, GA, Ruth (Jim) Mason Smith of Collinsville, IL, and Joan (Stephen) Raney of Columbia, IL; five grandchildren, Matthew (Kelly) Raeber, Christopher (Sarah) Mason, Andrew (Megan) Mason, Valerie (Bobby) Prashad, and Stephanie Raney; five great-grandchildren, Scout and Malcolm, Tarynn and Everett, and J. D., along with other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Marvin Kloepper, and sister, Florence Clessa.
All services will be private. Interment will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Columbia, IL.
