Lola Mae Smitt's Obituary
Lola Mae Smitt, nee Durrant, 70, of Dupo, Ill., born May 7, 1945 in Chicago, Ill, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Lola was a retired school teacher from Dupo Elementary School District 196.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Oliver & Verna B., nee Bullinger, Durrant.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Donald Smitt, her daughter, Alicia (Chris) Ellis, her son, Bob (Natalie) Smitt, her grandchildren, Allyson & Luke Ellis and Cierra & Noah Lauman, her brother, Larry Durrant, her cats, Bitty and Sponge Bob, her grand dogs, Rascal, Joey & Frankie. She is also survived by brother & sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Monroe County Humane Society or the Dupo Volunteer Fire Department.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 25, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, Ill.
Funeral Service will be on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, Ill., with Rev. Todd Mushaney, officiating.
Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Ill.
