Linus J. Elder's Obituary
Linus J. Elder, 92 years, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away on December 26th, 2023 in Red Bud, Illinois. He was born January 25th, 1931, in Claryville, Missouri to Elmo Elder Sr. and Sophie Esselman.
He married Nellie J. Hentis on July 23rd, 1955 in Claryville, Missouri. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Illinois.
Surviving is his wife, Nellie J. Elder, along with many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Elmo Sr. and Sophie Elder, son, Denis Elder, sisters; Gladys Roman, Merida H. Anderson, MaryAnn Grott, Dorothy Elder, and Audrey Elder, brothers; Glennon Elder, Elmo Elder Jr. and George Elder.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Illinois. Services will follow on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Illinois with Fr. Dennis Schaefer officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. Peter's U.C. of C. Cemetery in Red Bud, Illinois.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to St. Peter's United Church of Christ Cemetery Perpetual Care or St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
