Linda Ann Todd, 64 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away at de Greeff Hospice House, St. Louis, MO. She was born in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Ralph and Eileen (Tiemann) Stremming. Linda had taught K-12 for over 33 years in the Read Obituary
I played tennis for several years at St Clair with Linda and enjoyed every moment. She was a gracious competitor and always had a kind word. I'm so sorry that she has left us so soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so sad to hear this news. Miss Stremming was a wonderful person. She was my PE teacher and volleyball coach at Mt Olive High School. Myself and many from the Class of 77 have great memories of her. We often gave her a hard time and found a few ways to embarrass her, but she still managed to teach us a few things along the way about sports and sportsmanship and being a good person. I'm very sorry about the loss of your loved one. I wanted to share the scriptural hope that has given me so much comfort. I hope it will help you also. The Bible shows that God did not intend for humans to suffer, grow old and die. (Romans 5:12). It also calls death an enemy. (1 Corinthians 15:26). God promises to remove death forever. (Isaiah 25:8). He also promises to soon restore the earth and humans to his original purpose for them. Expressing my heartfelt sadness and sympathies to the family. I had the pleasure of knowing her as a teacher and coach- I graduated in 1977, she coached me all 4 yrs in volleyball. She was a very caring and fun person. She taught with compassion and was very athletic, which has still been my motivation to this day! She always made us feel good about our selves and had a smile on her face. Another person just received her wings:)

I'm sorry to learn of Linda's death--too soon to leave us. I played softball with her at Shelbyville when she was just a teen. I now see our age difference. Her dad and my mom were probably second or third cousins so I was also a distant relative. My condolences to all the family and friend's lives she touched.

I was shocked when I read of Linda's death. I figured it was the bad weather that kept me from seeing her on her Main St. walks. I'll miss the waves across the street.

My deepest sympathies in this difficult time. I am sorry I was unable to make the visitation this evening.
The lessons we learned in PE and on the volleyball court have been used many times in the last 35 years. Not only were we students or team members, but each and every person was valued as a person. And not every teacher would take personal time and play tennis with their students. Erica and Adam, you have amazing parents, and your mom will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May the sharing of stories bring comfort and peace to you in the days and weeks to come.
