Linda Louise Stewart's Obituary
Linda L. Stewart, 87, of Belleville, IL., passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 3, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family in the hours preceding her death.
Linda was born the 5th child of seven to Walter and Elizabeth Robinson in Bismarck, MO., on December 28, 1937. Linda started out as a secretary in the 1960s. While working as a secretary for Ralston Purina, she met the love of her life, Larry. After marrying and starting her family, Linda began her career as a homemaker and mother. Linda was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She took great pride in her home and in the wonderful treats she would bake for her family. She was renowned for making the world's best chocolate chip cookie. Linda used her creativity to make beautiful things for the people in her life. Larry and Linda loved to travel and visited 3 continents in their lifetime, but the home she made was her favorite place to be.
Linda is survived by her children, Michael (Charlene) Stewart, Erin (Nabil) Jbour; her only granddaughter Michaela and husband Drake, grandsons, Mack, Conner and Kostas; sisters, Jan Munro Moog and Anita (Russell) Masinelli,
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Larry, her parents, Walter and Elizabeth, and her siblings Florence, Richard Eugene, Robert, and Mary.
Linda loved animals. She fed any critters that came to her porch, including racoons and opossums. Her pets brought her great joy throughout her life, and she cared for them as she did her family, with lots of love and lots of treats.
Linda's burial services will be private. A celebration of life will be scheduled in the springtime. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society to honor Linda's lifelong love of animals.
