Lester B Waller's Obituary
Lester B Waller, 85 years of Millstadt, IL, passed away peacefully at his residence on June 16, 2023. He was born January 25, 1938, in Plum Hill, IL.
He was a 38 year employee of McDonnell Douglas, as an electrician. Lester was active in the Naval Reserves from 1954-1962, going active duty from 1961-1962 for the Berlin Cuban Missile Crisis. Lester was a member of IBEW Local #1 for 64 years. He was also an active member in the Freeburg Sportsman's Club, St. Libory American Legion Post 683, NRA, and St. James Catholic Church. He loved spending time with his family. Lester was a crop farmer and enjoyed many outdoor activities, including, hunting for deer, elk, bear, and caribou, bass fishing, camping, boating, watching stock car and NASCAR racing, and also enjoyed his HO train displays. He especially enjoyed his early retirement.
Surviving are his Wife, Joyce Waller of Millstadt, IL, Daughter, Tammy (Chris) Dauphin of Millstadt, IL, Grandchilden, Ross and Danielle Petrekovich, Great-Grandchilden, Raylynn, Novella, and Lennox, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Daughter, Linda Kay Waller, Parents, Arthur and Edna Waller, Mother-in-Law Virginia Boeving, and Fred and Stella Vahlkamp.
Visitation will be Monday, June 19, 2023, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home - Millstadt, and Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am, at St. James Catholic Church, Millstadt. Services will be held on Tuesday June 20, 2023 at 10:00 am, at St. James Catholic Church, Millstadt, IL, with Fr. Marvin C. Volk officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Evergreen Cemetery, Millstadt, Illinois.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to St. James Catholic Church or Millstadt Senior Center.
