Lester O. Schumacher's Obituary
Lester O. Schumacher, 67 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away at Des Peres Hospital, Des Peres, MO. He was born in Belleville, IL, the son of the late Lester and Clara (Birch) Schumacher Baltz. Lester had served with the Columbia Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years and had been a past Chief and past 2nd Assistant, member of The Knights of Columbus Council 6165, and was a Kloepper Grand Champion. He had retired from Monsanto Corp., St. Louis, MO, where he had worked as a pipe-fitter. He was married to Shirley (Block) Schumacher, who survives him. They were married on May 8, 1965, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL.
