Lester Deffenbaugh was born in St. Louis, Missouri, son of the late Charles F. Deffenbaugh and Katherine E. (Vollmer) Deffenbaugh. He was a member of Columbia Gymnastic Association (life member), Columbia Blue Lodge #474 AF & AM (50 yr. member), American Red Cross, Past President of the Columbia P.T.A., Monroe County Farm Bureau, Charter member of the Toastmasters and Columbia Lion's Club, Scottish Rite, American Bankes Assoc., and St. Paul United Church of Christ, Columbia, IL. He had retired as the President of Monroe National Bank, Columbia, IL, with 37 1/2 yrs. of service.He was the husband of Olivia (Mueller) Deffenbaugh, who survives him. They were married in on June 1, 1940.
