Leona M. Moskop's Obituary
Leona M. Moskop, 97 years of Waterloo, Ill., formerly of Dupo, Ill, passed away on January 2, 2018 at Red Bud Regional Hospital in Red Bud, Ill, . She was born January 8, 1920, in Dupo, Ill.
Leona was a retired clerk from the Dupo post office after 36 years of service. She was a lifelong member of Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, Ill., Women's Guild, charter member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary 6368 Dupo/Cahokia, Ill., American Legion Ladies Auxiliary 485 in Dupo, Ill., she especially enjoyed quilting, which she was able to do for many years and she was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Moskop who died November 9, 1988, her parents, Charles and Katie, nee Wernicke, Koch, 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
Surviving are Daughter, Cathy (Robert) McDonald of Rock Falls, Ill., two grandchildren, Ryan (Jennifer) McDonald and Heather (Kevin) Wolford, four great-grandchildren, Logan McDonald, Olivia McDonald, Kaeli Wolford and Brenden Wolford, along with other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, Ill., and on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. at Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, Ill..
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, Ill., with Rev. Nancy Spier-Lee, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Ill.
