Leland 'Lee' Wilkening's Obituary
Leland "Lee" Wilkening, 82 years, of Red Bud, IL, passed away on May 19, 2020 at Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, IL. He was born August 27, 1937, in Red Bud, IL. He was married to the late Dorcella, nee Courier, Wilkening. They were married June 20, 1964, in Ruma, IL, she passed away September 16, 2002.
Lee had retired as an assembler from Chrysler Corporation, Fenton, MO. He was a member of United Auto Workers Union Local 110, Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bud (Prairie), Il., and was a past member and caretaker of the Waterloo Sportsman Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, tending to his vegetable garden, deer hunting and fishing. He also loved auto racing, especially the Indy 500, and playing a friendly game of Euchre. His greatest passion was to spend time with his loving family and many dear friends.
Surviving are his daughter, Lisa (Robert) Ratz of O'Fallon, IL and son, Mark Wilkening of Red Bud, IL; grandchildren, Jessica and Jared Ratz; sister, Betty (Donald) Fausz of Red Bud, IL, along with other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, parents, Harry and Lena, nee Schlimmer, Wilkening, and brother, Norbert Wilkening.
Private funeral service will be held. Interment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Red Bud, IL.
