He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was a member of American Legion Post 581, Columbia, IL.He was married to Sharon (Riebeling) Pope, who survives him. They were married on November 9, 1999, at Columbia, IL.
