Larry "Red" Elmer Blow, 81 years of Red Bud, IL, passed away on October 31, 2023 in Red Bud, IL, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 22, 1942, in Red Bud, IL.
Larry worked his entire career at Hubbell Wiegmann in Freeburg, IL, as a foreman. He married the love of his life, Mary Lou, on June 8, 1963, and together they raised six children. Larry enjoyed playing lottery scratch-off tickets, euchre, golf, bowling, horseshoes, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and Tv game shows, with his favorites being The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, and Let's Make a Deal. He loved classic cars and enjoyed watching the Barrett-Jackson auctions, as he always dreamed of owning another '57 Chevy. His favorite meal of the day was breakfast, no matter what time of the day and also enjoyed a nice cold Milwaukee Best Light from time to time. Most days he could be found sitting in his garage relaxing, watching traffic go by. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his best companion, his dog, Blue.
Surviving are his Daughters, Torrie (Dave) Seibert, Terri (Loran) Koch, Tammy (EJ) Roscow, and Rebecca Young, Son, Ben Blow, Daughter-in-Law, Tammy Blow, Grandchildren, Trent (Amy) Blow, Travis (Denise) Blow, Taryn (Greg) Blow, Tyler (Brittney) Blow, Stephanie (David) Lerch, Morgan (Mahmoud) Seibert-Mansour, M.D., Litney (Craig) Hick, Josh (Kaitlyn) Koch, Emma Roscow, Jack Roscow, Caleb Stefani, Hudson Young, and Brock Young, Great-Grandchildren, Avery, Preston, Addison, Owen, Nora, Louis, Shelby, Wesley, Lane, and Clayton, Dog, Blue, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Wife, Mary Lou Blow, Son, Anthony "Tony" Blow, Parents, Elmer and Elvie "Hentis" Blow, Sisters, Iva Porter and Shari Gruber, Brother, James "Jim" Blow, Brothers-in-Law, Jim Porter, Thomas Cowell, and William Cowell, Sister-in-Law, Linda Cowell, Nephews, Michael Blow and Scott Porter.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 5, 2023, 2:00 pm-6:00 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home, Red Bud, IL and Monday, November 6, 2023, 10:00 am-11:00 am, at St. Peter U.C. of C, Red Bud, IL. Services will be held Monday, November 6, 2023, 11:00 am, at St. Peter U.C. of C, Red Bud, IL with Pastor Cory Hartz officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Red Bud, IL.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to St. Peter U.C. of C, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
