Mary Lou, Susan, Rhonda, Theresa and families, please accept our deepest sympathies on the loss of Larry. An early memory of Larry that I have is Mom would baby sit Susan when Larry and Mary Lou would go out (date nights back then?). Anyway, I believe Larry had a 1955 white Chevy hardtop with a figure of a 'nude woman' in the center of each hubcap. I was at an age where I would notice those hubcaps! Our store, Zipfel Bros. Inc., purchased advertising items from Larry over the years. I have some of the customer give away gifts such as fly swatters, salt and pepper shakers etc. Larry was also a city Alderman. I have a ruler: Larry Mehring for Alderman Third Ward election April 4, 1995. I also have a few Certainteed jackets that I bought at his "clearance sales" related to his advertising business. We've been gone from Red Bud for 18 years and I still wear those jackets. So as you can imagine, Larry is often in our thoughts. The last time I saw the two of you was in March 2017. I stopped at your warehouse and I think you had just sold the camping trailer, and you were cleaning it out. I took a picture of the two of you next to the red truck. We will not be able to attend the services but will be thinking of you. Peace and Prayers to all. Charles and Bertie Zipfel Grayslake, IL.
