L. 'Joe' Russell, 84, of Columbia, Ill and formerly of St. Clair, MO, passed away on July 28, 2007, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.. He was born on May 29, 1923 in Troy, IA, the son of the late Ulris and Bernice ( Leeps) Russell.He was retired from General Metals, St. Louis, MO, as a machinist and was a member of the V.F.W. Post #2661 in Washington MO, WW II Sailors Association, and the Disabled American Veterans Association.
