Kiyu Edward Hannemann's Obituary
He was born January 14th, 2001 in St. Louis, MO.
He was currently living in his very own residence with his close friends as roommates. He loved to play video games, play the keyboard, and dress up in his finest suits. He truly had an old soul and a passion for Sinatra. He had a deep love for Italian food and enjoyed many nights on "The Hill" at Mama Cazzazi's, his favorite restaurant. He was also a lover of animals, specifically dogs. He has always had a soft spot for Bernese Mountain dogs and black labs.
After attending Belleville East High School and graduating early in 2018, Kiyu enlisted in the Army on this 18th birthday. He was honorably discharged after 2 years of service. During his enlistment, Kiyu received the National Defense Service ribbon.
He is survived by his father LCP Michael Hannemann and step-mother Amy Hannemann, his mother Christy Main (Saher Kokly), his sisters Lacey Dahlem (Jason Riddell) and Alissa Thouvenot (Neil Thouvenot), his step-siblings Jacob Bosche and Jennifer Hart (Gabriel Hart), and his uncle Timothy Main. He is also survived by his grandparents Lee & Victor Main and Edward Hannemann (Victoria Ferguson). He is joined in heaven by his late grandmother Harriet Hannemann.
His friends and family already miss him terribly.
In honor of Kiyu, listen to some "Rat Pack" music today and send a prayer for healing for his friends and family in this difficult time.
There will be a graveside service at St. John's Cemetery on August 26, 2024 with full military honors.
In place of flowers, please send donations to the Veteran Suicide Prevention Committee at the Marine Corp League Troop 183 and the Berner Garde Foundation (a foundation supporting Bernese Mountain Dogs).
