Kent Franklin Mason's Obituary
Kent Franklin Mason, 64 years of New Athens, IL, passed away on September 7, 2024 at his residence. He was born September 11, 1959.
An avid outdoorsman, Kent enjoyed hunting, being out on the boat, mushroom hunting, bird watching, and walking his dogs Jake, Solo, and Reo. Always there to lend a hand, he was a talented and skilled builder helping many of his friends with home improvements and other projects. In his younger years, Kent traveled and lived in various locations across the world, but always found his way back to Illinois where he eventually settled down in New Athens. Kent was proud of his time in the Air Force and his time in the Sheet Metal Workers and Boilermakers unions.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Joyce (Beers) Mason; his aunt and uncle, Shirley and Wellington Beers; a sister Machelle Joyce Campbell; and his beloved dogs Jake and Solo. He will be greatly missed by his close friends, remaining family, and all of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Private interment will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
