Kenneth W.R. Schmidt, 85 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away at Columbia Rehab. and Nursing Center, Columbia, IL. He was born in Sugarloaf Twp., IL, the son of the late Clarence and Katherine (Langhans) Schmidt. He had retired from Luhr Brothers Construction Co., Columbia, IL, with over 40 yrs. of service, had been a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Columbia, IL, lifetime member of the Chester, IL, VFW, and the American Legion Post 581. His favorite past-time was enjoying the great outdoors. He had served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of World War II and Korea. He was married to Laverne (Stumpf) Schmidt, who survives him. They were married on June 14, 1952, at Columbia, IL.
