Joy was preceded in death by her husband: Hubert L. "Smitty" Smith, her parents: Martin and Leona, nee Hamilton, Doom, brother: Martin Doom Jr. and a sister: Jean Merrick. She is survived by her daughter: Burnetta Blanchard, son: Larry (Shelly) Smith; grandchildren: Sandy (Glenn) Birkner, Jerry (Melanie) Blanchard, Jordan Smith, Jarrett Smith and James (Amy) Snodgrass; great grandchildren: Brandi, Brittany, Jessica, Nicholas and Lillie; Brother: Billy (Mary Lou) Doom. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Alzheimer's Association.
