I wish you comfort as you mourn the loss of such a bright light for so many.
I had the privilege of coaching Josh in the shot put and discus at SLUH for a couple years. He was such a joy at practice everyday. His can do positive attitude and dedication to trying to get better and compete everyday were an inspiration to me and all his teammates in the throws and the whole team. His competitive spirit and quick wit were on display everyday at practice and at meets. No one-including the coaches-was safe. Josh brought great energy to everything he did. What an honor it was for him to call me coach. Rest easy young man knowig you made a differenc in many lives and may you be in paradise looking down and watching over us.
I am so sorry for your loss. Josh was a great student and a joy to have in my class. Condolences to his family and friends.
Dr. Riza Demirer (his finance professor at SIUE).

This is incredibly sad news. My condolences go out to Josh's family. I did not know Josh that well. He was two years ahead of my son Ben at both ICS and SLUH. What I do remember clearly is how much respect and admiration I had for Josh for the way he faced up to and fought through such overwhelming health issues during High School. Such an accomplished and admirable life that was cut way too short.
We are so sorry to learn of Joshua's death. To John, Chris and all the family we send our deepest sympathy and condolences. He truly was a fighter and accomplished much despite all his problems. We will keep him and all of you in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Marian and Jerry Whitson
