Mr. Pope was retired from Sears Roebuck & Co., East St. Louis, IL, where he had worked as a Garage Foreman. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Columbia Gymnastic Assoc. and American Legion Post #581. Mr. Pope was an Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII, having been a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor.He was born in East St. Louis, IL, son of the late Marion F. and Anna Mae Pope, nee Stuart.
