Joseph A. Bassy, 58 years old, of Columbia, IL, passed away on December 16, 2020 in Columbia, IL. He was born July 21, 1962, in Belleville, IL.
Joe was a graduate of Washington University, St. Louis, MO. where he had earned a master's degree. He was retired from corporate property sales. He enjoyed collecting political pins, and watches. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
Surviving are his aunt, Carole Harres of Columbia, IL; cousins, Donna (David) Lang of Columbia, IL, Betty Jean (Allan) Balicki of Feeding Hills, MA, and Eva Marie (Steven) Sojkowski of Feeding Hills, MA; dear friend, Keith Kult of Waterloo, IL; along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emilio "Mush" and Betty Grace, nee Harres, Bassy.
Graveside services and interment of ashes will take place on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, 11:00 am, at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia, IL, with Pastor Elizabeth Terrill, officiating.
