John Henry Campe's Obituary
John Henry Campe, 78 years of Millstadt, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at his residence. He was born December 22, 1944, in East St. Louis, IL.
John was a retired electrician from Local 309 after 35 years of service. He was a founding member of the Paderborn Bass Association. He enjoyed fishing and waterfowl hunting, and for the past 20 years he enjoyed his time spent with family and friends at their place on Lake Egypt.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Sheila Campe, nee Lippert, his daughter, Gina Clossen, his son, Jeff (Misty) Campe, his grandchildren, Nicole (Jordan) Lewis, Caitlyn Clossen, Will Clossen, Kyle Stinchcomb, Morgan Campe, Heather Snyder, and Kaitlyn Bastien, his great grandchildren; Thea and Mila Lewis, Adalayde Adams, and Carson and Dakota Snyder, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Victorine, nee Boesch, Campe, and his grandson, Nathaniel Clossen.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Karban Knotty Pines in Paderborn, IL.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the Millstadt Senior Center or Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. Arrangements were handled by Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, IL.
