Joe L. Everett's Obituary
Joe L. Everett, 94 years, of Columbia, IL, passed away on November 17, 2022. He was born September 16, 1928, in Morehead, MS. He was the son of the late John D., and Margie, nee Hood, Everett. He was married to the late Wanda, nee Payne, Everett. They were married January 21, 1949, in Carson City, NV. She had passed away June 8, 2017.
Joe had retired from Cerro Copper, Sauget, IL. His family was his life, love, and passion. Joe hunted and fished every chance he got, and loved to work with his hands on whatever needed repair. He enjoyed biscuits and gravy, Cardinal Baseball, WordSearch, and playing cards.
Surviving are his sons, Ernest (Connie) Everett of Columbia, IL, Austin Everett of Columbia, IL, and Joe Dale (Rose) Everett of Dupo, IL; daughter, Debra (Mike) Bollinger of Columbia, IL; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Trudy Lynn Everett, brother, John D. Everett, and sisters, Janell Baskins, Marie Richardson, and Anell Combs.
Public visitation will be on Tuesday, November 22, 9:00 am - 11:00 am, at Leesman Funeral Home, Columbia, IL. A family service will be held at 11:00 am, following the visitation. Interment will follow in the Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia, IL.
