Jewell was preceded in death by her husband: Milo Everett Rains, her parents: George C. & Leatha, nee Mitchell, Chamness, and her sons: James Rains & Robert Rains. Jewell is survived by her son: Kenneth (Merlean) Rains of Russellville, AR., her daughter: Rose Marie Sutter of Columbia, IL., her brother: Vernia Lee Chamness, her daughter-in-law: Olivia "Sis" Rains, she is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and other relatives & friends. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Dupo, IL.
