Mrs. Thomas was the best teacher in the whole world, alongside Mrs. Gloria. I was shattered to pieces when I heard the news, and she will be dearly missed. She went through a difficult time all through quarantine, more than most did, but she never let us students know. A part of me wishes I could have reached out to her before her death, but I had no idea about her illness. I was told she didn't want her students to worry, which is why she never told us. I know she wouldn't want me or others to dwell on her death. She was always such a kind woman and had a great sense of humor as well. I was probably her favorite student in our class, not to brag, and I thought of her like a teacher-mom. We got along so well and her classes were one of the highlights of my day. Cancer has taken so many kind and wonderful people, and I will never understand why such an amazing human had to leave us so quickly. I will never forget you, Mrs. Thomas, and neither will your family, friends, and all your students. Much love and prayers to the family.

Our love and prayers are with Mike and Jeanie's family members whom we know in Springfield MO where Jeanie met and then later married Mike, son of Glen & Dorthy Thomas,and her sister-in-law Glenda (Thomas) Burr. We loved Jeanie as she visited Glenstone Baptist Church and hold memories of her beautiful personality and her love for the Lord.

I worked with Jeannie as an aide for a year in her Foods and Early Childhood classes. What I liked most about her was her quick wit and sense of humor. She would gently tease the students about needing to be attached to their phones; she called them their "binkies!" When she'd wrap up class a few minutes early, she'd tell them, 'okay, this is the moment you've been waiting for; you can get your binkies out now!" She was always ready with a smile and a friendly greeting wherever she went. I will miss her.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Jeanie for a couple of years in her foods class and adult living. Jeanie was a very sweet and caring teacher, and she will be missed by many. I will miss going by her class and greeting her with, "namaste" Rest in peace Jeanie.
