Jeanette F. Schaefer's Obituary
Jeanette Frances Schaefer, 81 years, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away on July 22nd, 2024 in Chester, Illinois. She was born July 13th, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri to Anthony and Frances (Kalmer) Gazda.
She enjoyed reading, baking, cooking, bowling, doing crafts and going to yardsales. Jeanette was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Illinois.
Surviving is her husband, Martin Schaefer, daughter, Brenda (Randy) Scott, grandchildren: Heather (Dylan) Fitzpatrick and Michael Bievenue, great-grandchildren, Jaidyn Close, Dominic Close, Isaiah Mosley, and Michael Todd Bievenue, brothers, Anthony Gazda and Robert Gazda, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Frances Gazda, sons, Wayne Schaefer, Donald Schaefer, Scott Schaefer, and Nick Schaefer, sister, Joan (Roger) Heck, and grandson, Matthew Bievenue.
Visitation will be Friday, July 26th, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday, July 27th, 2024 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud. Services will be held Saturday, July 27th, 2024 at 10:00 am at Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud with Msgr. Dennis Schaefer officiating. Interment will follow at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Red Bud, Illinois.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 515 Locust St., Red Bud, Illinois 62278.
