Janice "Jan" McGuire's Obituary
Janice, nee Hale, McGuire passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family - her teenage crush and husband of 43 years lying next to her, holding her hand as she passed from this life into the next. She was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Alford and Bettye, nee Stratton, Hale. She enjoyed choir, glee club, and dancing. She had a passion for animals and people. Her hobbies involved travel, horses, rodeo, photography, writing, art, languages, and music. She was a creative soul and her talent knew no boundaries.
Janice graduated from Tonkawa High School and married Jackie McGuire on May 27th, 1972. She worked with her mother for many years in the restaurant business. She then moved on to a successful career as a communications officer for 13 years in Blackwell, Oklahoma, and then in Columbia, Illinois. She worked in customer service for several years as well. Her family meant everything to her and it showed in everything she said and did. She was considered a second mom and grandma to many and was loved by all who met her.
