Jane F. Stahlschmidt, 80 years of Columbia, IL, passed away on February 2, 2023 in Columbia, IL. She was born May 9, 1942, in Belleville, IL.
Jane was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL. She was a dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister and homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, especially taking trips to Reelfoot Lake in Tennessee. Her most memorable times were spent going to her grandchildren's many school and sports activities. She liked to listen to Country Music and going to music concerts.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph Stahlschmidt of Columbia, IL; daughter, Jan (Robert) Byrd of Columbia, IL, son, Joe (Laura) Stahlschmidt of St. Charles, MO; grandchildren, Taylor (Anthony) Johnson, Torey (Brady) Luther, Colton Byrd, Kayleigh Stahlschmidt, and Alena Stahlschmidt; great-grandchildren, Brooks and Rosealine; sister, Iona Juengling of Columbia, IL, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mildred, nee Greeting, Juengling; brother, Jim Juengling.
Visitation will be Monday, February 6, 2023, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home, Columbia, IL, and Tuesday, February 7, 2023, 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL. Funeral mass will be held following visitation, Tuesday February 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM, at church, with Fr. Carl Scherrer officiating. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Columbia, IL.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Eugene Schorb - Immaculate Conception School Education Fund, 411 Palmer Road, Columbia, IL 62236.
