James A Sager's Obituary
James A Sager, 86 years, of Fairfield, PA, passed away on August 6, 2021 in Dupo, IL. He was born January 2, 1935, in East Carondelet, IL. He was the son of the late John and Nettie, nee Arris, Sager. He married Kathleen Swift on December 10, 1966 in Washington D.C., she survives.
James served in the Marines from 1954 to 1957, and 1961-1967. Later he worked for the Association of American Railroads as the manager of mechanical department. He retired from there after 25 years. James enjoyed many outside activities such as hunting, fishing, gardening, and was sure to walk six miles every day. He also enjoyed NASCAR and reading. James was very social and enjoyed meeting new people, visiting with friends and family, and being a snowbird by traveling to Florida for many years.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Lynn (Matt) Edwards and Julie (Lee) Eyler; brothers, John and David Sager; grandchildren, Olivia Edwards, Nicole Shirey, and Michael Stone; in-laws; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; including a special nephew, Michael Sager.
James was also proceeded in death by his brothers, Andrew and Lester Sager; and sisters, Esther, Virginia, and Ruth Sager.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to: Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY, 10306.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation rites have been accorded.
