James J. Ritson, Sr.'s Obituary
James J. Ritson Sr., 86 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away at Barnes Jewish Medical Center, St. Louis, MO. He was born in St. Louis, MO, the son of the late Arthur and Nellie (Walsh) Ritson. He had been a member of American Legion Post 581 Columbia, IL (services Thursday evening 7:00 pm), V.F.W Post 6504 (Life Member) Waterloo, IL, Charter Member of the WW II Memorial, USN Sailors Cruiser Assoc., Knights of Columbus Council 6165, and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL. Jim had served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Louisville CH 28 in Okinawa in 1945, and was Veteran of WW II. He had retired from the Monsanto Corp., with some 37 yrs. of service. He was married to Charlsie (Buatte) Ritson, who survives him. They were married on September 10, 1949, at East St. Louis, IL.
