James T. Kennedy's Obituary
James T. Kennedy, 90 years of age, of Saint Louis, MO, formerly of Columbia, IL, passed away on September 20, 2020 at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, MO. He was born November 18, 1929, in St. Louis, MO. He was married for 68 years to the love of his life, the late Shirley, nee Gill, Kennedy. They were married in St. Louis, MO on February 3, 1951. She passed away June 2, 2019.
Jim was retired from TSI, Inc., St. Louis, MO. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, Il and the Columbia Gymnastic Association. He had served in the U S Army. After his retirement he and Shirley relocated to Lake of the Ozarks, where he passed his time fishing and golfing. His most treasured times were spent with his family, especially his grandkids and his many dear friends. Jim will be remembered for his quick wit and his joke telling.
Surviving are his children, Sue (Rick) Taylor of Columbia, IL, Patrick (Tammy) Kennedy of St. Louis, MO, and Jerry (Janine) Kennedy of St. Charles, MO; grandchildren, J.R. (Molly) Taylor, Ann Taylor, Courtney Kennedy, Ramona Kennedy, Brittney Kennedy, Sean Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Lucy Kennedy Taylor, and Brooks Michael Taylor; brother, Bobby Kennedy of Fenton, MO; sister, Patsy Dooley of St. Louis, MO, along with other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Clair and Sophie, nee Record, Kennedy, step-father, Bill Pearson, sisters, Alice Johnson, Dorothy Kennedy, Kate Chiodini, Margaret Campbell and Edith Pearson, brother Butch Pearson, and childhood friend, Bob Dalton.
Private Services will be held.
