James C. Esmon Sr.'s Obituary
James "Big Jim" C. Esmon Sr., 70 years of Dupo, IL, passed away on October 12, 2025 at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, MO. He was born May 28, 1955, in East St. Louis, IL.
Jim worked at Monsanto as a chemical operator, retiring after many years of service. In his younger years, he loved to ride his Honda Goldwing. He enjoyed watching golf and baseball, as well as movies, especially scary movies. One of Big Jim's favorite things to do was hang out in his man cave with his best buds. Jim was a proud grandpa and great-grandpa, and loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are his Wife of 51 years, Vickie (nee McGeehan) Esmon; Children, Tina, Jim (Heather) Jr. and Timmy; Grandchildren, Tyler, Taylor (Jimmy), Katie, Maddie (Kaleb) and Hailey; Great-Grandchildren, Brynlee; Brother-in-Law, Rick (Sharon) McGeehan; Friends, Rick, Kevin and Bill; along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, William "Bill" and Gloria "Jean" (nee Robinson) Esmon.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 16, 2025, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home, Dupo, IL and Friday, October 17, 2025, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. The family invites anyone with a story about Big Jim to share at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
