James N Bangert's Obituary
James N. Bangert, 93 years old, of Millstadt, Illinois, passed away on April 10, 2018 at the Freeburg Care Center, in Freeburg, Illinois. He was born on March 15, 1925, in Millstadt, Illinois. James was a member of the Zion Evangelical Church, in Millsadt, Illinois. He was a member of the Millstadt VFW, The American Legion, and a long time member of the Millstadt Fire Department. He participated in the Scottish Rite of Belleville, Illinois, and he was also a member of the Masonic 474 AF and AM. James was a member of the VBOB, or Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge, as well.
Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Dorothy Bangert, nee Schneider, his daughter, Karen (Terry) Quirin, his brother, Karl Bangert, his granddaughter, Sarah (Chris) Damann, his grandson, Brad (Jenny) Quirin, his great grandchildren, Ella Quirin, Ryan Quirin, Louisa Haas, Madison Damann, Megan Damann, and Zech Damann, his brother- in- law Maurice Schneider, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Bangert Sr., his mother, Viola Bangert, nee Kalbfleisch, and his brother Harry Bangert Jr.
Visitation will be Friday, April 13th, 2018, from 4 pm - 8 pm, and Saturday, April 14th, 2018 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Leesman Funeral Home, in Millstadt, Illinois
Services will be held Saturday, April 14th, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois, with Pastor Darrell Weber officiating.
Interment will follow at the Mount Evergreen Cemetery, in Millstadt, Illinois.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the Zion Evangelical Church of Millstadt, Illinois.
