Jacqueline "Jackie" Poettgen's Obituary
Jacqueline "Jackie" Poettgen, nee Muskopf, 85, formerly of Dupo, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at de Greeff Hospice House, St. Louis, MO. She was born August 7, 1937, in East St. Louis, IL.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene "Gene" Poettgen, her granddaughter, Kelsey Vance, her parents, Alfred and Adelia, nee Hauser, Muskopf, her uncle and aunt, William and Anna Schneeberger, who raised her since she was 3 weeks old, and her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Ann Schneeberger.
Surviving are her children, Beth (Steve) Hankamer, Mark (Shawn) Poettgen, and Lynne Vance (significant other, Bryan Henske), her grandchildren, Erich (Jillian) Hankamer, Kristopher (Hanah) Poettgen, Logan Hankamer, Kellan Poettgen, and Kerilyn Poettgen, nieces, Joanne (Bruce) Counce and Judy (Marvin) Doerr, along with other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, 425 Beaird St., Columbia, Illinois, with Pastor Todd Mushaney, officiating.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Christ United Church of Christ, 200 South 3rd Street, Dupo, IL. 62239. Arrangements were handled by Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL.
