Jacob Daniel Nelson's Obituary
Jacob Daniel Nelson, 36 of East Carondelet, Ill., passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO., surrounded by his family & friends.
Jake was a chemical worker at Jost Chemical. He was a graduate of Dupo Community High School and a graduate of Culinary Art in Madison, WI. He was a member of APA & St. Clair County Bank League.
He was preceded death by his maternal grandparents, Lester & Joanne LaCroix, his paternal grandparents, Howard & Veda Nelson and his great grandmother, Irene LaCroix.
He is survived by his mother, Sherri (Jim Jarvis) LaCroix, his father, Terry (Mandy) Nelson, his children, McKenzie McKnight, Kayla Hamilton & Danny Hamilton, his brothers, Michael Hutchinson & Tim (Kathy) Nelson, his uncle, Guy LaCroix, his great aunt, Connie Shownes, his great uncle, Jerry Pugh, his nieces, Samantha Hutchinson, Alexis Hutchinson & Taylor Nelson, his nephew, Austin Nelson. He is also survived by other relatives & friends.
Jake was an avid fisherman and a top elite pool player for many years.
He loved his family and friends. Jake touched the lives of many people and he will be greatly missed.
Memorials may be made to the Donor’s Choice.
Celebration of Life visitation will be on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, Ill. There will be a time of reflection at 7:00 p.m.
Memorial Mass will be on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupo, Ill., with Fr. Linus Umoren, officiating.
Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Holy Family Cemetery in Cahokia, Ill., with lunch to follow at the East Carondelet Community Building.
