April 21, 1943 – January 23, 2020
With hope in the promise of eternal life, Jackie Kaempfe died on Thursday, January 23, 2020, while traveling in Texas. Born in St. Louis on April 21, 1943, Jaqueline Joyce Loosmore married Marty Kaempfe at the age of 25, and together they raised three children. Jackie was active in her home parish of St. Bernadette in St. Louis, and brought her enthusiasm for service to Immaculate Conception in Columbia, Ill. She shared her creative talents through quilting for the Labor Day Picnic and crocheting prayer shawls.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents Art and Jean (Wrombel) Loosmore, and her brother Jerry Loosmore. She is survived by her husband and their children, Linda (Bill) Seibel, Donna (John) McLaughlin, and Bob (Amy) Kaempfe; her brother Bob Loosmore; grandchildren Emily and Elyse Seibel, Megan Berry (Matt) and Eric Sanner, and Alex and Ellen Kaempfe. She will be especially missed by her fellow quilters, and fondly remembered by her many relatives and friends.
Her final gift of service was the donation of her body to science. A memorial Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception, Columbia, Ill., at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 31, and friends may greet the family beginning at 9 a.m. All attending are welcome to continue the celebration of Jackie’s life at a luncheon immediately following the Mass, in the Garden Level of the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
