Hubert "Junior" L. Amsden Jr.'s Obituary
Hubert "Junior" L Amsden, 80 years old with 44 years as a resident of Dupo, IL, passed away on January 31, 2018 at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis, MO., he was born June 28, 1937, in Centerville, MO
Junior married Veda Hall on May 2, 1964. He retired as a heavy equipment operator from Maplewood Construction. He was an avid race car fan, a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Junior was the ultimate family man.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years Veda, nee Hall, son, Steve (Tracie) Amsden, daughter, Pamela Amsden, and son, Travis (Julie) Amsden, grandchildren, Tommy Amsden, Ciara Amsden and Tessa Amsden, great-grandchild, Savannah Amsden, brothers, Jimmy (Shirley) Amsden, Denny (Sue) Amsden, sister, Mary Lou Miner, along with many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents Hubert L and Gladys, nee Bowles, Amsden, Sr., brothers, Ray and Luin Gene Amsden, sisters, Fern Hedrick and Glenna Pender.
The granddaughters respectfully request visitors to come Friday night in their casual dress, as Grandpa was a jeans, flannel shirt and boots kind of guy.
Visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2018, from 4-8 p.m., at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL., and Saturday, February 3, 2018, from 1-2 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL. Services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2 p.m., with James Jarvis officiating. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, IL.
