Herman "Dugan" Edwin Watts' Obituary
Herman "Dugan" Edwin Watts, 84 years of Dupo, IL passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Avalon Memory Care, Saint Louis, MO. He was born August 1, 1939, in Centralia, IL .
He worked for ICG Railroad as a Trainmaster until his retirement. He was a member of the Mason Emeth Lodge No. 1030, Cahokia, IL. During his free time he enjoyed working outside, splitting wood, hunting, fishing, traveling, but most of all he loved spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his four children, Dennis Watts of O'Fallon, Missouri, Joseph (Donna) Watts of Avondale, Colorado, Andrew (Angie) Watts of Fults, Illinois, and Susan (Wes) Higgerson of Dupo, Illinois, his six grandchildren, Beth (Zach) Chism, Katie Higgerson, Joseph (Ashley) Watts, Tiffany (Ozzie) Luna, Nathan (Kayla) Watts, and Heather (Rob) Nuernberger, his six great grandchildren, his step brother and sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Brytle Edwin Watts, his mother, Alice Agnes Wolly and his wife Carolyn Watts.
Memorial Visitation will be held Monday, February 26, 2024, from 10:00 am - 12:00pm, at Leesman Funeral Home - Dupo, IL. Memorial Service will be held, Monday February 26, 2024 at 12:00 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home, Dupo, IL, with Pastor Patrick Poolen officiating. Interment will follow in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Dementia Society of America P.O, Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 , American Cancer Society #5 Schiber Ct., Maryville, IL 62062 .
