Herbert H. Kunkel's Obituary
Herbert H. Kunkel, 90 years old of Dupo, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at his residence. He was born January 19, 1930, in East Carondelet, IL.
Herb retired after 30 years of working at Swift's Packing House in East St. Louis, IL. He served 2 years overseas in the United States Army as a Stack Records Clerk, stationed in Pusan, Korea & was honorably discharged as a PFC.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Jeral Dean Kunkel, his daughters, Tammy Louise (Charlie) Nelson of Dupo, IL., & Deborah Lynn (Larry) Helton of Waterloo, IL. his son, Harold William (Kim) Kunkel of Glendale, AZ., his grandchildren, Tera Lynn (Darren) Auelenbacher of Arnold, MO., Eric William (Holly) Helton of Waterloo, IL., Aaron Christopher (Alesia) Nelson of Bonne Terre, MO., Logan Tyler Kunkel & Chase Tanner Kunkel of Glendale, AZ., two great grandchildren, Hattie Jane and Bentley, sister-in-law, Audrey Snellenberger, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Herman & Louise Philipine, nee Sutter, Kunkel, his infant son, Herbert Dwayne and 8 brothers & sisters.
At Mr. Kunkel's request, cremation will take place.
