Helen J Szakacsi's Obituary
Helen J. Szakacsi, nee Koch, 90, of Columbia, Ill., formerly of Dupo, Ill, born February 3, 1926 in Dupo, Ill., died Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Garden Place in Columbia, Ill.
Helen was retired as a payroll clerk from Monsanto Chemical Company. She was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, Ill., and a charter member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 6368 in Dupo, Ill.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Andrew L. Szakacsi, her parents, Charles and Katie, nee Wernicke, Koch, her brothers, Edward, Sylvester, George, Roy & William Koch, and her sister, Mildred Haupt.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane (Dennis) Willenborg, her sons, Terry Szakacsi and Tim Szakacsi, her grandchildren, Rachel (Brian) Alexander, Keith Brown and Nathaniel Szakacsi, her great grandchildren, Collin, Chloe and Noah, her sister, Leona Moskop. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to Garden Place Activity Fund.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, Ill., and on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, Ill.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, Ill., with Rev. Todd Mushaney, officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, Ill.
