Helen C. Stratmann's Obituary
Helen C. Stratmann, 91, of East Carondelet, IL passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at her home.
Helen was born on January 26, 1930 in East Carondelet to William and Grace (Hoover) Schrader. She married the love of her life, Henry G. Stratmann on April 15, 1950 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupo.
Early on Helen worked for the Social Security Administration before settling down and raising her family. Later she helped her husband as a receptionist at their successful accounting business. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupo and a member of the Sacred Heart Women’s Club.
Helen was a wonderful homemaker and cook; she was meticulous about keeping her house and things in order. She liked to travel with her husband to various places. She was a devoted mother and wife; she loved her family and will dearly missed.
Survivors include her son- Dr. Henry G. Stratmann, Jr and wife Dr. Maryellen Amato of Springfield, MO, daughter- Deborah Collins (late husband Kenneth) of Licking, MO, four grandsons including Henry G. Stratmann, III, Joseph Stratmann, Dr. Jared Collins (wife Jessica) and Dr. Brett Collins, PhD., two great grandchildren; Landon and Madelyn Collins, sister- Marilyn Becker of Belleville, sister-in-law-; Millie Stratmann of Worden and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephew.
She entered eternal life with her son David. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters- Margaret Schrader, Dorothy Facas, Joyce McDonald and brother- William Schrader, Jr. and many cherished members of her family and her husband’s family.
A private dual funeral mass for Helen and her son David will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupo. Fr. Osang Idagbo will officiate. A private burial for Helen will be held at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery and David will be inurned at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fairview Heights. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo.
