Helen R. Mueller's Obituary
Helen R. Mueller, nee Mehrmann, 83 years old of Millstadt, IL, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Freeburg Care Center, Freeburg, IL. She was born February 9, 1939, in Floraville, IL.
Helen graduated from Deaconess School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse until her retirement. Her husband Marty and her also owned and operated Millstadt Carpet for 25 years until 2000 when their son, Scott took over the family business. Helen was a member of Concordia United Church of Christ in Belleville, IL., Concordia Women's Guild, the Shriner's Women's Auxiliary and the Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, she was an active quilter at Concordia United Church of Christ, Memorial Hospital and at home. She also loved to swim at the YMCA.
She loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events, dance, cheerleading, baseball, basketball, football and bowling.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years that she married on September 17, 1960, Vernon "Marty" C. Mueller of Millstadt, IL, her daughter, Mary Beth (Kurt) Pellmann, her son, Scott (Angela) Mueller, her grandchildren, Alex (Paige) Pellmann, Alyssa (Luke) Andres, Chandler Mueller, Brylee Mueller & Amariss Mueller, her great granddaughter, Tessa Pellmann and a great grandson due in October of 2022, her sister, Mary Weldele of Millstadt, IL, her sister-in-law, Dianne Mehrmann of Millstadt, IL, her brother-in-law, Dennis Garland of Freeburg, IL, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil & Mildred, nee Kleber, Mehrmann, her sisters, Ethel Mae Mehrmann, Elvera Mrozinski & Evelyn Garland, her brother, Robert Mehrmann and her brother-in-law, Joseph Weldele.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the exceptional care Helen received from all of the staff at Freeburg Care Center and the staff from Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, IL., and on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 am. at Leesman Funeral Home.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Leesman Funeral home in Millstadt, IL., with Rev. Joan Mier, officiating
Interment will follow in the Concordia United Church of Christ Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Concordia United Church of Christ in Belleville, IL., Shriner's Hospital or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
